York St. John Rugby Tour - Cologne, Germany 2001

Picture
Luckily we made it to Deutschland having sat on the docks at Calais for around half an hour for amateur toursit Digit, who had gotton lost on the ferry like a small child in a particulary large Morrisons.  German beer is chemical free, therefore no hangovers meant we could muster 2 matches on this tour.  No one can remember who we played but ze Germans were well and truly trounsed on both occassions, including an 80 point haul in one match.
This was undoubtedly the tour of the Fraggile, as anyone who saw the legendary Mark Munro warm up for one match in his Wayne Slob tracksuit will testify to. Cologne proved itself to be a lively City, including a fountain to launch Johnny in and other events and occurances subject to the old addage: 'What goes on tour stays on tour'.
Jamie Smith - St. Johns RFC Chairman 2000-01.
